2. Submission Requirements
All entries must be submitted in video format (mp3 or mp4) through iTickets.co.za, accompanied by a separate document containing the song's lyrics (Word or PDF format). Each song submission must be a fully arranged piece, created with the help of any AI music generation tool. The participant guarantees that the song submitted is an original work. Songs should not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, or any other rights of any third party.
3. Intellectual Property and Copyright
By submitting a song, participants affirm that: They are the original creators or have secured appropriate permissions or licenses for the use of any external content (samples, beats, AI-generated elements). The song does not infringe on any copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights. Any lyrics, melody, or visual content incorporated in the submission must be the participant’s own work or fully licensed for this purpose.
4. Use of AI Tools
Participants are permitted to use any AI music generation software or tool to create their submission, provided they comply with the licensing terms of the respective AI tool. Any copyright limitations associated with the AI tool must be adhered to by the participant. The festival holds no responsibility for misuse of such tools.
5. Ownership and Licensing
Participants retain full ownership of their submitted works. By entering the competition, participants grant the event organizers, AI Song Fest, and associated partners a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display their submitted works for promotional and event-related purposes. This includes but is not limited to social media promotion, advertising, and event showcase.
6. Publicity and Consent
The top 20 entries selected to attend the AI Song Fest live event may be recorded, photographed, and/or streamed. By participating, entrants agree to allow their submissions and any footage from the event to be used in public promotional materials, broadcasts, or other media outlets without further compensation.
7. Song Content and Responsibility
Participants are responsible for the content of their songs, including the lyrics, music, and visuals. Entries must not contain offensive, defamatory, or inappropriate material. AI Song Fest reserves the right to disqualify any entry that violates copyright laws, contains prohibited material, or otherwise fails to adhere to the competition’s guidelines.
8. Dispute Resolution
In the event of any copyright or intellectual property disputes, AI Song Fest will not be held liable. The participant will bear full responsibility for resolving any such claims or legal issues that arise from their submission.
9. Prizes and Performance Rights
The top 20 selected entries will be invited to perform or present their work at the AI Song Fest in Pretoria, South Africa. No additional compensation will be provided for this performance. Any further exploitation of the selected songs (e.g., recording deals, broadcasting) will require additional consent between the participant and the relevant third party.
